GRO won the award for their mobile marketing efforts for The Nine at Rio and The Nine at Tallahassee student housing communities.
DETROIT (November 6, 2020) — GRO Marketing (GRO) has won the Innovator Award for Best Mobile Marketing Campaign at the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC)/InterFace Student Housing Conference virtual event on October 19.

The award was based on the off-campus project that had the best success and most innovation with its mobile marketing campaign. GRO teamed up with Spaces, 908 Group, and Asset to develop and execute lease-up marketing campaigns for The Nine at Tallahassee (FSU) and The Nine at Rio (UT Austin) properties.
“Our partnership with GRO and 908 on this project was hugely successful because of the collaborative nature of the relationship,” said Alex Abernathy, VP of lease-up marketing at Asset. “GRO treating The Nine as if it were their own in understanding the demographic and vision, and working with our leasing and marketing team to deploy the campaign ultimately led to a large part of the success of this asset.”
GRO’s mobile marketing campaign strategy included multiple media platforms to impact and influence students choosing their home for the fall 2019 school year. Both properties reached 100% lease-up and only used 50% of their annual marketing budget.

Despite the challenges of COVID-19, the GRO and Asset teams are underway on the 908 lease-up projects for 2021 and continue to see the best in-market success.
